BBQ Chicken Pizza

Want a low calorie, fresh homemade alternative for a pizza? Read recipe below for a delicious low-calorie BBQ Pizza.

What makes this pizza less calories?

The first and most important part is the home made pizza dough. It’s so simple to make and takes 10 min to make (flour, low-fat yoghurt, bicarb soda, salt). You still get a fluffy thick crust without it being loaded with carbs.

Dinnertime win!.

BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA

Ingredients

The Dough

  • 90g self raising flour (I'm using regular but there are low-cal options) (10g used for kneading the dough)

  • 90g low-fat yoghurt

  • 1⁄3 tbsp Salt

  • 1⁄3 tbsp Bicarb Soda

Toppings

Instructions

Pizza Dough:

  1. Combine 80g of the flour, salt, bicarb soda and yoghurt in a bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer. Stir to combine. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface (remaining 10g of flour).

  2. Knead the dough by pushing with the base of your palm, then reforming it into a ball. If the dough is very sticky, add a small amount of flour while kneading.

  3. After the kneading is finished, then roll out the dough into a rectangle or circle. If you don't have a rolling pin you can carefully rolling it with a glass, or just flatten it with your hands.

  4. Add cooking spray to the bottom of your air fryer to prevent sticking. Transfer the dough to the air fryer (or in the oven if you don't have an air fryer) and cook for 5min at 200C.

  5. Flip the Pizza and place it back in the air fryer for further 3 min on the other side.

Toppings:

When it comes to your toppings you can add anything you want. For this recipe I used precooked chicken (find the recipe here).

  1. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough using the back of a spoon or knife to create a thin layer. Add the rest of your toppings.

  2. Carefully transfer the Pizza back in the air fryer and cook for further 2-3 min at 200C.

  3. Once it's done, serve immediately and enjoy!
