OLLIE PEAKE

Ollie has been working in the health and fitness industry as a Strength & Conditioning Coach for 7 years. After graduating high school, he immediately began his studies at The University of South Australia, pursuing his interests in athletic performance and the human body. Upon graduating with his degree in Applied Sciences (Human Movement) in 2012, Ollie took a break from his studies and began travelling the world. Within the next few years, he lived in places such as Melbourne, Hong Kong, Milan, and Paris. Following this, Ollie moved back to Adelaide to pursue a career in strength & conditioning.

ABOUT ME

Since I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated by the human body and our ability to influence how we look, feel and perform through strength and conditioning training means. From the day I bought my first car, I had a gym membership.

My focus and mentality towards weight training has continued to develop over the years. From a general desire to build muscle and get strong, to now viewing training through a more comprehensive wide-angled lens. I've come to learn that regardless of your training goals, in order for us to succeed we must take a holistic approach, adhere to principles, play the long game, build sustainable habits, continue learning, get stronger and hunt progression. These principles apply to elite level athletes and general population trainees.

Areas of specific interest for me include muscle building, strength training, athlete development, youth development and exploring our ability to optimise and increase movement strategies / capabilities to enhance performance outcomes.

Outside of the gym, I love spending time with my partner Mira (Mizz), seeing with my best mates, being outdoors or a complete hermit and parking myself on the couch binge watching football or TV series (most often Friends on repeat). I'm a sucker for all sports and don't mind the occasional punt on the footy. For my entire life, I've been a mad Crows supporter and the worst heartbreak I've ever experienced was the 2017 grand final loss.

The beach is my happy place which makes summer my favourite season, however I've always been drawn to thunderstorms and love getting the fire going during the winter months. I can't go past a Little Creatures Pale Ale, but always love a red during the cold season. I'm savoury over sweets, and would have to opt for a Zinger Box & Pepsi Max with Wicked Wings for my last meal on death row. The travel bug has now been living inside me since 2012 after my first backpacking trip around Europe. My hope is to spend more time travelling in the future. Locations at the top of the list include more of Sweden (Mizzle's home country), Japan and South America.

Overall, I truly love coaching and getting to know people whilst working together on the quest to achieve their strength and health related goals. I’ve been there myself, so I know first hand the journey clients are on and what is required to access their full potential.
